Waste collection for private households

Waste collection for private households

According to Denmark's household waste regulations, all private households in Guldborgsund and Lolland Municipalities must subscribe to the waste-collection scheme.

Select the size of your waste bin

Every household has the option of selecting the size of waste bin they prefer and the frequency with which it should be emptied. You can choose from a plastic bag holding 110 litres, a bin holding 140, 180 or 240 litres, or a mini-container holding 400 or 600 litres. Select here: Self-service.

How often do you want your waste bin to be emptied?

Each household can decide whether its waste should be collected every week or every two weeks, and can select this here: Self-service

Bin for cardboard and paper
All households receive a 140-litre bin for cardboard and paper. It is emptied every four weeks.

Access to the bin
There are rules for where you may place your waste bin. It must be freely accessible to waste collectors. (see the rules here).

Extra red rubbish bags
If you have too much household waste, this must be put into one of REFA's red rubbish bags. Put your filled bags next to your bin and we will take them the next time we collect your waste.  If you need red bags, they can be bought at the recycling centres and selected retail shops.
